What is window branding?
Window branding uses self-adhesive vinyl graphics to add interest to your windows. Window branding can be applied to any clean, smooth window surface that has been properly prepared.
What type of window branding should I order?
The type of window vinyl that is suitable for your purposes will depend on a number of factors such as the finish that you are looking for, the application, and how long you intend to have the branding in place. Our advisers can talk you through the options if you are unsure.
How do I install my window branding?
We offer an installation service and advise customers ordering large or complicated window vinyl to consider this option for the very best results. However, it is possible to install your own window branding if you follow these simple steps:
- Make sure the installation surface is absolutely clean and free of contamination by washing it thoroughly with a solution of warm water and washing up liquid.
- Wet the application surface. Remove the backing layer from your window vinyl and put into position – the wet surface will allow you to move the vinyl until it is in the right position.
- Using a squeegee gently remove any liquid or air bubbles. Take care not to stretch or damage the vinyl when doing this.
- Allow the vinyl to air dry for at least 24 hours.
How do I measure up for my window branding?
Measure the area that you want your window branding to cover and enter this in the relevant section on our order page. Please note that we advise you to order your vinyl with an excess of a few millimetres to account for surface variations. We also advise that your finished vinyl has an excess of 3mm to account for factors such as trimming, lamination and the effects of temperature.
Is there a maximum size for window branding?
No, we can print vinyl window branding as large as you would like, but your graphic may be split into sections. Print width is dependent on the type of vinyl that you have ordered for your window graphic. Please leave instructions if you have a preference on how your large window graphic is split. Industry standard roll widths for all four window branding vinyl are 1350mm.
Are there options suitable for outdoor use?
Yes, we have options that are weatherproof and we use waterproof and scratch-resistant eco-solvent inks.
The surface I want to use my window branding on is unsightly, do you have an option that will cover it completely?
Yes! Our white-backed option allows you to print in full solid colour with no background visible.
What do I need to consider when designing my window branding?
Firstly decide if you want position it inside or outside your window. For window branding displayed from inside, you must select the ‘Reverse Print’ option so it appears the right way when viewed from outside. You should also decide if you would like backing on your graphic (backing blocks visibility of the surface beneath it).
Does my window branding have to be a specified shape?
No, we can custom contour cut your window vinyl into pretty much any shape that you would like from an .ai file that contains a cut path. If you are unable to provide this, please contact us directly.
Can you colour match to our brand colours?
Yes, our printers produce CMYK images that print to the colour values stated. Or we offer a bespoke colour-matching service on request. Speak to our sales team for more details.
